We have finally chosen who we would like to support and hopefully raise a great deal of money for and that is CCS Adoption (Clifton Children’s Society).
I am lucky to know a family who have recently adopted through this agency, and to see the joy that has been brought to them is overwhelming and I would love to see more families and children united in this way.
CCS Adoption (Clifton Children’s Society) has been in existence since 1904. Over the years the work of CCS Adoption has developed in different ways but always with a focus on helping children .
They are an independent, professional and registered Adoption Agency. Their aim is to offer a positive and secure family life through adoption to parents, adopters and children, recognising the lifelong impact of adoption.
They are independently funded and work separately from, but in co-operation with, Social Services Departments throughout the country.
They have a team of skilled social workers who are all registered with the General Social Care Council.
They cover the areas of Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire. However the children they place can be from anywhere in the UK.
They seek to promote the welfare of children of all religions, races, cultures and abilities and believe that the best place for a child to grow up is within a family unit.
Before our family friends adopted I had limited knowledge on how the process worked and I think sadly the majority of the UK is in the same boat. I would really like to raise awareness of adoption, how the process works, how much it costs, where to go for help, but more importantly to highlight the wonderful impact it makes on both the child and the adoptive parents!
In the not too distant future I will be setting up a fundraising page on Virgin Money Giving, I will share the link as soon as possible so people can begin to kindly donate.
