Diary – Days 42/43
We’re resting up in Cornwall to look after my brother’s children whilst he was in hospital. We are getting back on the road on Monday afternoon and starting to cycle again on Tuesday from Burnham-on-Sea.
As my eldest brother Bradley has fallen ill and is in hospital, we are taking a couple of days off from cycling the coast of Britain to be with him and look after his children. We set off on Saturday afternoon to drive the Motorhome down to Helston, we waited until then as we had a number of commitments with Clifton’s Children Society in Portishead on Saturday morning.
We managed to get to the hospital on Saturday evening to see Brad, although he looked slightly tired and as if he’d lost weight, it was great to see him and know that he was ok. After that we headed to his house, to see his wife, and the children, Louis and Lucy.
It was lovely to see my nieces and nephews; great to spend some quality time with them and luckily Bradley was let out of hospital relatively quickly so we could even spend some time with him.
Needless to say, it was great to see everyone and the time went by far too quickly. We set off on Monday afternoon, to get back to Burnham-on-Sea, ready to start cycling again bright and early on Tuesday morning.
