Diary – Day 57
After Dad’s altercation with the car yesterday, on Doctor’s orders he has to rest up today. The weather is absolutely atrocious, raining cats and dogs, which doesn’t help when there are four adults and a dog in the Motorhome. This morning we did take the Motorhome for a spin into Margate to find the police station to report the accident. We then pootled on to a supermarket to do a quick shop as we’re going to be stuck in Margate until tomorrow. Other than that, I’m catching up on my blog and looking at the route ahead, to see whether I can improve on it in any way so we’re not on any major roads, when we can be on cycle routes.
I think we’re all getting rather claustrophobic in the motorhome, it’s been a tough 57 days – if you think, we set off on the 13th August and we’ve been on the road constantly since then, it does make you a bit stir crazy. As much as it is an achievement, cycling the coast – at the moment I do just want to get home. We have approximately 650 miles left to go, which is about 10 days. As long as the weather holds up and we have no more incidents, we should reach the finishing line on Thursday 18th October. I think all four of us, including Jasper are counting down the days until then!
Let’s hope that we can get back on our way tomorrow, the weather holds up and we can safely cycle for the remaining 10 days!
